The recognition

Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte, from Lunglei in Mizoram, was reported as nine when she received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in the Art and Culture category in December 2025. The government account highlights her singing and patriotic performances.

A stage before the award

The same report records her performance at the opening of the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav in Delhi in December 2024. Those are two dated public milestones.

They do not establish a private practice routine, a personal quotation or permission for Young Sparks to publish a new interview.

✳ A spark to explore

Music can make a listener curious about a place, a language and a performer. When you encounter a young artist, listen to the work as well as reading the headline. What feeling does a performance convey? What would you like to ask about choosing a song? These questions are an invitation to listen, not an account of Esther’s own answers.
