BEHIND THE RESULT

The recognition

In January 2020, Anantya Anand received the Global Child Prodigy Award in the entertainment category, presented by Dr Kiran Bedi in New Delhi, as one of that year’s Top 100 child prodigies. The Global Child Prodigy Awards is a private awards programme, not a government honour, and this story describes it as such.

A channel run as a family project

Anantya first appeared on her aunt’s channel at four; her own channel, My Miss Anand, began when she was five. In her published interview she describes school on weekdays and shooting on Saturdays, with her mother writing scripts and running the channel. YourStory counted 4.83 million subscribers in November 2019; she reported about 9.4 million a year later. Subscriber figures are dated snapshots, not live counts.

A spark to explore

If you started a channel, what is the one thing you would make videos about — and who in your family would you ask for help? That is a question from us. Anantya’s record also shows the working side of creating: planning, shooting days, and school first.
